William C. Mazzota




Will joined Farrar Bates Berexa in 2018. In his practice, he focuses on civil rights defense, governmental tort liability defense, land use and zoning law, employment law, and real estate errors and omissions defense. Will has a record of obtaining favorable outcomes for his clients — whether prevailing on summary judgment or negotiating settlements.

Prior to joining the firm, Will practiced state and federal criminal defense at Sherwood Boutique Litigation, PLC, and clerked for the Honorable John Everett Williams on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.

Will obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee in 2016, and earned Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in environmental science and political science in 2013 from the University of Florida, where he graduated cum laude.

In law school, Will was a member of the Moot Court Board, served as the managing editor of the Tennessee Journal of Law and Policy, published an article in the law school’s student journal, and served as president of the Environmental Law Organization. In addition, he completed summer internships at the Southern Environmental Law Center, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, and Legal Aid of East Tennessee.

Will is active in the community, and is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, a board member of the Nashville Chapter of the American Constitution Society, and a member of the Middle Tennessee Group of the Sierra Club. He also enjoys hiking and spending time with his dog, Banjo.
